Types of Earrings

In imitation earrings there are several categorizations or types.

• Kundan Earrings:
  Kundan is a technique in which stones are set with brass/silver alloy with the main part of earrings.

• Jhumka Earrings:
  Jhumka are bell shaped danglers which are attached below the earrings. It is a bell shaped part which we often see in hindu temples.

• Latkan Earrings (Tassel Earrings):
  Latkan earrings have a very long slim part below the main part of the earrings. Latkan is the gujarati name it generally means “the part which hangs below”
  

• Stud Earrings:
  Studs are the earrings which are very short and it generally has only main part which is often attached to the ear.
  

• Oxidized Earrings:
  Oxidized earrings are the special material earrings which are intentionally darkened and have an antique looking finish. It is done by controlled oxidation which generally adds contrast to the metal.
  

• Fabric Earrings:

Fabric earrings are made of hard cardboard, fiber cloth, different decorating material such as coins, jhumkas, pearls, beads etc. 

• Earcuffs:
  Earcuffs earrings in which the outer part of ears (edges of the ears) are fully covered with the earrings material.

• Chandbali Earrings:
  These earrings are generally shaped like a full moon or half moon or crescent moon.
